Project WET provides an integrative water education utilizing a two-hour fun-filled hands-on event consisting of standards-based activities focused on the water cycle, watersheds, groundwater and water conservation. This program also provides teachers with continuing education credits.

Here is a sample of the education that will be provided:

Groundwater: Is between the grains of sand and gravel, it moves because gravity works underground just like it does above ground, it is connected to surface water and a part of the water cycle. We use groundwater as a part of our water supply.

Water Cycle: Water is constantly changing form and moving through the earth system. Water changes states as it moves through the water cycle by evaporation, condensation, precipitation, melting, and freezing. The water cycle is not just a big circle.

Water Conservation: Technology has changed how we use and transport water. Easy access to water make it easier to wastewater. Technology can help us use water more efficiently.

The Water Festival is provided to fourth-grade students at no charge to the schools. The Water Festivals thrive due to support from community groups and corporate sponsors as well as the generous support of individual donors. If you would like to donate, please make checks payable to “Verde Valley Water Festival” and send them to: Yavapai County Development Services, Attention: DeShannan Young, 10 S. 6th Street, Cottonwood, AZ 86326.
