Prescott Public Library

The Prescott Public Library Youth Services has started a new podcast called Librarians Telling Tales. Miss Jennifer, Miss Amy, and Miss Blair share all the things they love about libraries: Books, people, and making connections! You can expect to hear discussions and reviews of the latest and greatest youth reads, upcoming library events, and “Readers Rave” where you can share your favorite books.

Prescott Police Department

Prescott Police will be conducting extra traffic enforcement on Willow Creek Road starting today. Officers are focusing their efforts on dangerous and reckless violations including speeding, red light violations and other egregious violations. This is being done in an attempt to slow traffic down in order to reduce serious traffic crashes.

Remember, highway safety is the responsibility of every driver.

Teen Task Force

The Teen Task Force First Annual Fall Fashion and Talent Show takes place this Saturday, September 25th at 4 PM. Apricot Lane clothing will be showcased.

On their website, they explain, “Our goal is to have each of the children participating behind the scenes and on the runway to get a new winter coat, shoes, and clothes for back to school.”

The Teen Task Force exists to empower youth through connection and community.

Community Meeting

All are invited to participate in a community meeting specifically for the Granite Creek Area Plan. This will be held on Zoom on September 28th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Please register in advance.


Ad Hoc Committee

The Arizona House of Representatives is setting up an Ad Hoc Committee to improve forest and wildfire management in Arizona. The goal is to closely examine forest and wildfire management practices and policies to assess potential improvements to minimize the impact of those fires on Arizonans and the environment. This is something that affects our entire state.
I am very pleased to learn about this effort, and want to express my support and appreciation to the legislature. Wildfires have affected our community a great deal, and are always a threat in our area.

15th Annual Prescott Vette Sette All Corvette Show

The 15th Annual Prescott Vette Sette All Corvette Show takes place on Saturday, September 25th in downtown Prescott from 10-3. Take a walk downtown and enjoy these cars on display. Don’t forget to stop in and patronize our downtown businesses.

Then, you can jump in your own car and head out to the 10th Fall Classic Car Show in front of Sally B’s Cafe’ in Prescott Valley, also from 10 AM – 3 PM.


Trailer Trash Bash

The Trailer Trash Bash /Benefitting Veterans takes place on Saturday, September 25th, starting at 5:30 PM. Trashy attire is required. Music by Wheelhouse, $20 per person at the door and it’s all for a good cause. This is presented by the Wayward Men.


Dancing for the Stars

There is still time to get your tickets to the Dancing for the Stars event coming up on Saturday, October 2nd. This great event helps to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona. All proceeds stay local.

The 2021 event will take place at the Hendrix Auditorium at Mile High Middle School in downtown Prescott. In the meantime, you can go to their website, buy tickets, and vote on the team you hope will win!

Non Profit Highlight: Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona is a terrific contributor to our community, serving the needs of local families. Their vision is to recognize greatness in every Club Member and help them grow into excellent community citizens. They offer After-School and Summer programs to provide a safe environment for kids, focusing on:

  • Fun with a Purpose
  • Academic Success
  • Character Development and Leadership
  • Healthy Choices

This 501(c)3 organization has a “Round-Up” program in which you can round up your purchases to the nearest dollar and donate the change to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona. It’s an easy way to help this excellent organization out!
