PHOENIX (AP) — Air Canada has announced a new seasonal direct service between Phoenix and Montreal, Quebec. Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and nearly a dozen other city and tribal leaders from around Arizona gathered Thursday to mark the launch of the new service.
Officials with the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport say the direct flights to the Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport on Air Canada Rouge will operate through May 28, three times per week. Air Canada says the flights will resume on Sept. 6 and continue through May 2019.
Canada is a major Arizona trading partner with exports to Canada valued at more than $2.2 billion annually. With its typically warm weather, Arizona is also part-time home to many Canadian “snowbirds” seeking to escape the cold winters back home.
