SignalsAZ – Talking Glass Media to Partner with High School Media Programs

Multimedia Platform to Provide Real World Experience and Motivation for Students

Every morning the aspiring multimedia producers at Badger Media Studios create news updates for the students of Prescott High School.  Everything they need to know to begin their day, whether it’s the lunch menu, the latest sports scores or what’s happening around the campus and town, Badger Media Studios produces. Going through the full process of creating content to convey these messages and using professional equipment and software, the students in Robyn Bryce’s media class are preparing for a future in the industry.

“We teach the kids pre-production, writing, planning, getting in touch with people and even budgeting to the production process with shooting, camera work, editing and the final stages of them getting it pushed out,” Bryce said. “I really feel we are a true school to work experience.”

The media program at Prescott High School is a partnership between the Prescott Unified School District, The Boys and Girls Club of Central Arizona and Junior Technical Education (JTED).

A Platform to gain real world experience and motivate the students

Talking Glass Media – SignalsAZ.com reached out to the media programs within the region’s high schools, specifically Prescott High School and Bradshaw Mountain High School, offering them a platform through which the students could share their work with the community while also gaining real world experience in multimedia production, content distribution, journalism and marketing.

“We are excited to work with Badger Media at Prescott High School by providing them a platform to share the work that they do in the media center and also to provide them real-world experience on the platforms and technologies we are using at SignalsAZ.com,” said Guy Roginson, Executive Editor, SignalsAZ – Talking Glass Media.

Now with SignalsAZ garnering viewership throughout Northern Arizona, nationally and even internationally, Bryce is excited to see what type of quality content her students can produce, hoping the opportunity will “up their game”.

“SignalsAZ.com is offering an opportunity for my students to have their work on a more global stage or community-based rather than school-based,” Bryce said. “That really makes students bump up their work which will drive them to more challenges, better production value and ultimately create the workforce of the future.”

“One of our primary missions at Talking Glass Media – SignalsAZ is to make our community better. A great place to start is with our students. We have a number of projects in the pipeline both with Prescott and Prescott Valley high schools. Be looking for both digital photography and video to be produced by the students and published on SignalsAZ.com. I am very excited about working with the teachers and students,” said Roginson.

Stay tuned to SignalsAZ.com to see the multimedia work being produced by our students in the local high school media programs.
