The Chino Valley High School Cougars football team and girls volleyball team finishes the season this week. Meanwhile, the girls soccer team and boys soccer team are in the playoffs. Below is a recap.
Football
The struggles continued for the Chino Valley High School Cougars football team following a 33-20 loss against River Valley at home on Friday, Oct. 25, marking their sixth straight loss. The team is 2-8 overall and 0-4 in region play. Next up is the final game of the season on Friday, Nov. 1 against Northwest Christian on the road. Kick-off is 7 pm.
Boys Soccer
The Cougars boys soccer team finished the regular season winning their third straight game on Wednesday, Oct. 23 with 5-0 victory against Northland Prep at home. Chino Valley had a regular season record of 11-1 and 5-1 in the region. As the #2 team in the 2A state playoffs, Chino Valley hosts #7-seeded Snowflake this evening, Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 6 pm in round one.
Girls Soccer
The Chino Valley High School Cougars girls soccer team won their 2A state playoffs play-in game against Camp Verde at home on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 3-0. Chino Valley will be back in action for the state semifinals on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 pm. The game will be hosted at Williams Field High School in Gilbert. The opponent will be announced soon.
Girls Volleyball
After breaking a long losing streak with a 3-1 win against Kingman on Thursday, Oct. 24, the Chino Valley High School Cougars girls volleyball team dropped a game against Northwest Christian on the road 3-0 Tuesday, Oct. 29. The loss drops the Cougars to 5-12 overall and 3-6 in the region. Cougars will finish the season at home on Thursday, Oct. 31 against Kingman Academy. Start time is 6 pm.
