The official end of the school year for Chino Valley Schools is just around the corner, May 26th. Between now and then there are scheduled a slew of end-of-year activities. With the decrease in COVID-19 cases both statewide and locally, we are hoping to hold these events as scheduled.

CVUSD Superintendent

The Chino Valley High School graduation is scheduled for May 26th at Findlay Toyota Event Center. We will be working with the Event Center to allow as many attendees as possible while maintaining a safe environment. The Senior Awards and Scholarship Night is scheduled for the evening of May 12th in the CVHS gym. The CVHS Student Council is working on prom plans along with a senior outing to Phoenix. FFA and National Honor Society are scheduling their yearend events. All schools have scheduled their individual awards programs and performances. You can go to each school’s website for more information.

Another event that takes place at this time of year is enrollment for next school year. Incoming kindergarten students can enroll at Territorial Early Childhood Center. Office hours are 7 am-5 pm Monday through Thursday. Parents of students new to the district can get a registration packet online at chinovalleyschools.com under the enrollment tab or can get a packet at any school office. Returning students will receive registration packets, which need to be returned to their child’s school.

The end of the school year usually marks the beginning of the Summer Feeding Program but this year it is a continuation of the current CVUSD meal program. Children ages 0-18 can continue to receive a free breakfast and lunch. Families can continue to pick up 7 days’ worth of meals at Territorial Early Childhood Center or at various bus stops throughout the district. A schedule can be found on the district’s website. The summer feeding program will continue as is through July.

A program that we are excited about in June is Summer School in CVUSD. Summer School will go from June 2nd through June 28th from 7:30 – 3:30. Students have the option of attending just in the morning, just in the afternoon, or all day. Students will be served breakfast and lunch and transportation will be provided. All schools, grades kindergarten through 8th grade will be offering a variety of programs to meet all skills and needs. CVHS will be offering two sessions as well and students can earn two semesters’ worth of high school credit in math, science, and English, in person, or social studies online. Families have until May 2nd to enroll their student for summer school.

You can follow the district’s Facebook page at @chinovalleyschoolsarizona or go to the district website at www.chinovalleyschools.com for updates on what is going on in the District.
