City of Prescott Brings Awareness to Potentially Bogus Calls to Citizens

The City of Prescott has received information about unauthorized calls to citizens, from phone numbers that are incorrectly identified as a City of Prescott number.

Reports indicate that caller ID identifies the City of Prescott Utility Billing public number 928-777-1291, when in fact they were not originated from the City’s phone system. Citizens should be advised that these calls are NOT coming from or authorized by the City of Prescott.

The calls appear to be taking a survey, asking questions about the household, and other potentially private information. The calls do not seem to be asking for any sensitive financial information, however, we advise citizens to protect themselves from potential fraud and consider carefully whether or not to answer any questions from unidentified callers.
