The City of Cottonwood is updating its General Plan, the guide for the future development of the City. The existing plan was adopted in 2014 and state law requires cities to update their general plans at least every ten years.
The City wants to hear from you! In the coming months, the Community Development Department will gather comments from citizens on how the General Plan should be changed. Even if you don’t live inside the Cottonwood city limits, if you shop, work, play, or own property in Cottonwood, you are welcome to participate.
For background information on Cottonwood, you can view the existing General Plan and the 2023 City Atlas on the Community Development Website, cottonwoodaz.gov/157/Community-Development. If you would prefer to read a physical copy of the 2023 City Atlas, you can visit the following locations:
- Cottonwood Public Library (100 S. 6th St.)
- Community Development Department Office (111 N. Main St.)
- Cottonwood City Hall (827 N. Main St.)
The City will hold a series of public meetings where you can give input and learn about particular topics that will be included in the updated General Plan. You is welcome to attend as many meetings as you like.
