Del Rio School Searching for New Principal

The Chino Valley Unified School District is in the search process for a new principal for Del Rio Elementary School. District administration has narrowed the field of principal applicants to three finalists, a fourth who was being considered removed himself from the search earlier this week.

The remaining candidates attended a community meet and greet on Wednesday March 23, 2022 at DRS to discuss their qualifications and goals with staff and parents.

The three remaining contenders are:

Maya Caldwell
Federal Programs and Title I Director
Prescott Unified School District (AZ)

Cassandra Crowser
Dean of Students/Instructional Coach
Del Rio Elementary School
Chino Valley Unified School District (AZ)

Dr. Edwin Moody
Teacher
Sedona Red Rock High School
Sedona-Oak Creek Unified School District (AZ)

Dr. Austin Temperley, principal of the Cambridge Christian School (Tampa, FLA), withdrew his name from consideration.

Carolyn Reeder, the current principal at DRS, will be transitioning into a districtwide assignment to help teachers provide better instruction to our special student populations.

Superintendent John Scholl will be making a recommendation to the CVUSD Governing Board soon, the board will then make its decision at the April 11, 2022, Board Meeting.
