With the Fourth of July just around the corner, many city services close in honor of the holiday. Below is your quick reference list for all the closures happening in Tucson and Yuma Cities.
City of Tucson
All City of Tucson offices, except for emergency services, will be closed Monday, June 5th for Independence Day.
Trash & Recycling collection:
Residential and commercial trash and recycling will not be collected on Monday, and all collections will be delayed by one day.
The Los Reales Landfill will be open Monday.
Holiday collection schedules are available online at www.tucsonaz.gov/esd or if you have a smartphone, download the free Recycle Coach App to have access to all collection schedules.
Public Transit
Sun Tran, Sun Van, and the Sun Link streetcar will operate on a Sunday schedule. Sun Link will end service at 8:00 pm. Sun Express and Sun Shuttle will not be in operation with the exception of Sun Shuttle ADA Dial-a-Ride Service.
City of Yuma
As a reminder, Yuma City Hall will also be closed on July 9 as part of its normal rotating Friday schedule.
Residents can still read official city documents, register for a Parks and Recreation program and more whenever City Hall is closed by visiting www.yumaaz.gov.
Several city services will be altered due to the holiday, including:
Solid waste
Residential refuse collection for homes inside the Yuma city limits will change due to the holiday. City of Yuma residents who normally have their garbage picked up on Mondays will have collections on Tuesday. Those who have garbage pickups on Tuesdays will have collections on Wednesday.
Curbside recycling pickups will take place as normal on Thursday and Friday.
City pools
Valley Aquatic Center, 4381 W. 18th St., and Marcus Pool, 545 W. 5th St., will be open on Sunday, July 4. Both pools will be closed on Monday, July 5. For a full listing of pool hours of operation visit www.yumaaz.gov/pools.
City Council meeting
Due to the proximity of the holiday, the Yuma City Council will not hold a meeting on July 7. The Council will next meet at 5:30 p.m. July 21.
