With Labor Day just around the corner, many city services close in honor of the holiday. Below is your quick reference list for all the closures happening in Prescott Valley, Prescott, and Chino Valley.
Town of Prescott Valley
The Town of Prescott Valley offices will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 4th. They will reopen for normal business hours on September 5th.
The following Town of Prescott Valley facilities are also closed on September 4th and will reopen on September 5th for normal business hours:
- Civic Center
- Police Department Lobby & Admin Offices. For emergencies call 911, non-emergency dispatch call 928-772-9267.
- Prescott Valley Public Library
City of Prescott
In observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 4, City offices and Prescott Public Library will be closed, and some services will be affected. Solid Waste trash and recycling will be collected, however, the transfer station will be closed. Here are some details:
Schedule for City of Prescott Offices
The City of Prescott offices will be closed on Monday, September 4, 2023. City offices will reopen on Tuesday, September 5, at 8 a.m.
Schedule for Solid Waste Division
The Solid Waste Division will be collecting residential trash and recyclables on Monday, September 4. Please have your containers curbside by 6:00 a.m. Commercial routes will also be serviced on their regular schedule.
The City of Prescott Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, September 4. The Transfer Station will reopen on Tuesday, September 5, from 8 am – 4 pm. Please remember to cover and contain all loads when transporting them to the Transfer Station.

Schedule for Prescott Public Library
Prescott Public Library will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 4. The library will reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5. Your library without walls offers eBooks, online resources, streaming video, and more, and is available 24/7 at www.prescottlibrary.info.
Town of Chino Valley
The Town of Chino Valley offices will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 4th. City offices will reopen on September 5th for regular hours.
Town of Chino Valley facilities that are also closed include:
- Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce will reopen for normal hours 9:00 am-5:00 pm on September 5th.
- Chino Valley Library will reopen for normal hours 10:00 am-6:00 pm on September 5th.
- Senior Center: Closed and will reopen for normal hours on September 5th.
Yavapai County
Yavapai County offices will be closed on Monday, September 4, in observance of Labor Day. All offices will open again on Tuesday, September 5, with regular business hours.
