Lake Havasu City is pleased to announce the selection of Troy Stirling as the City’s next Police Chief. Lake Havasu City Police Captain Stirling succeeds Chief Dan Doyle, who is retiring on Friday, December 16, after a 16-year stellar career with the Lake Havasu City Police Department.

Lake Havasu City Manager Jess Knudson said, “I selected Captain Stirling to serve as Lake Havasu City’s next Police Chief because he earned it. A nationwide search was conducted and I can confidently say that Captain Stirling is the most qualified person for the job. Moving forward, Chief Stirling’s leadership style will differ from Chief Doyle’s leadership style, but one thing will remain constant – the integrity and character of every sworn and civilian employee in our Police Department will remain at a very high level”.

Captain Stirling began his career with the City in 1997 as a Patrol Officer and earned the rank of Captain in 2016 before also serving as Detective, Sergeant, and Lieutenant. He holds a BS in Criminal Justice and a Masters Degree in Public Administration.

Troy Stirling’s first day as Lake Havasu City Police Chief is December 17th.
