Martin Luther King Jr. Day Closures for Tucson, Yuma

With Martin Luther King Jr. Day around the corner, many city services close in honor of the holiday. Below is your quick reference list for all the closures happening in Tucson and Yuma Cities.

City of Tucson

All City of Tucson offices, except for emergency services, will be closed Monday, Jan. 17, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Trash & Recycling collection:

Residential and commercial trash and recycling will not be collected on Monday, January 17, and all collections will be delayed by one day.

Holiday collection schedules are available online at or if you have a smartphone, download the free Recycle Coach App to have access to all collection schedules.

City of Yuma

Yuma City Hall will be closed Monday, January 17th and resume normal hours on Tuesday, January 18th. Residents can still read official city documents, register for a Parks and Recreation program and more whenever City Hall is closed by visiting In addition, a self-serve kiosk for utility payments (cash/credit/debit) is available 24 hours daily outside the main entrance of City Hall.

Trash collection:

Residential refuse collection for homes inside the Yuma city limits will change due to the holiday. City of Yuma residents who normally have their garbage picked up on Mondays will have collections on Tuesday. Those who have garbage pickups on Tuesdays will have collections on Wednesday.

Curbside recycling pickups will take place as normal on Thursday and Friday.
