More rain is expected with today’s monsoon storms and with already saturated grounds, be on alert for the potential of flash flooding. The Flash Flood Watch has again been extended and is now set to expire at 5:00 am on Sunday, July 31, 2022.

Storm development is much like the previous few days with storms developing in the midday with widespread coverage from Gila County through to Yavapai and Coconino Counties.

Watch for lightning, gusty winds, heavy rainfall, and localized flash flooding. Avoid flood-prone areas like creeks, drainages, and low water crossings. Stay out of slot canyons.

High-risk areas (low-lying areas, near streams or riverbeds, or around burn scar areas) can prepare for monsoon storms by protecting their homes.
