Peoria Wants to Remind You to Know Arizona’s State Laws Regarding Firework Use

In Arizona, State Law mandates the use and sale of consumer fireworks. Peoria is reminding residents that fireworks are dangerous and can cause significant harm to people and pets, and damage to property and open space.

Consumer fireworks may be sold Dec. 10 through Jan. 3. However, legal consumer fireworks may only be used Dec. 24 through Jan. 3. Aerial and explosive fireworks such as skyrockets, bottle rockets and Roman candles are prohibited for use in Arizona. Legal consumer fireworks may only be used on private property and are not permitted on city property, including parks, city streets and city sidewalks. Fireworks are prohibited on state land and school property, unless a permit has been issued. For more information, visit www.peoriaaz.gov/fireworks.
