The 16th-ranked Embry-Riddle men’s wrestling team put together a great bounce-back performance on Saturday afternoon, defeating Corban in a dual to wrap up its trip to Oregon. After dropping the first three matches of the dual, the Eagles won five matches in a row and six of the last seven to earn a 21-17 dual victory.
Trailing 14-0 in the dual, Jonah Chew helped turn the tide of the contest by winning a 7-3 decision at 149 pounds. Beau Blackham scored six more dual points for ERAU when he earned a pin just 52 seconds into his match at 157 pounds.
Keller Rock battled at 165 pounds, winning a hard-fought 9-7 decision to continue the ERAU comeback. Stone Aguirre was able to give the Eagles a 15-14 dual lead, erasing the 14-0 deficit with a 10-4 decision victory at 174 lbs.
At 184 pounds, Michael Densmore earned yet another decisive victory in ERAU’s favor, winning 7-3 at 184 pounds. Garrette Branson clinched the dual for ERAU officially, winning a thrilling 3-2 decision in the heavyweight finale.
Embry-Riddle is nearing the end of its regular season and will make one last road trip next weekend. The Eagles will head to Montana for duals against Montana State-Northern on Friday and the University of Providence (Mont.) on Saturday.
