The Prescott High School Badgers football team won their third straight game and the badminton team responded with a victory after their first loss of the season. The girls volleyball team, meanwhile, lost to Lee Williams on Tuesday. Below is a full recap and a look ahead to the rest of this week and the start of next week.

Football – The Prescott High School Badgers football team opened their new turf at Bill Shepard Field Friday, September 20, with a 48-7 victory against Flagstaff as region play got underway. It was the third victory in a row for the Badgers after opening the season with two losses. Quarterback Dellinger Boyd threw for 144 yards and three touchdowns while running back Sylas Espitia had over 100 rushing yards with one touchdown. The defense also forced four turnovers. Following a bye week, the Badgers hit the road for a matchup against Coconino on Friday, October 4 at 7:00 pm.

Girls Volleyball – The Badgers girls volleyball team fell to the Lee Williams Volunteers Tuesday, September 24, 3-1 at Prescott High School to break their two-game winning streak. The defeat drops the Badgers record to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the region. Prescott High School – who is fourth in the standings – will take on Desert Edge at Prescott High School tonight, Wednesday, September 25, at 6:00 pm.

Badminton – After losing their first game of the season on Thursday, September 19, against Mesquite on the road, the Badgers badminton team quickly jumped back with a 9-0 victory against Cactus on Tuesday, September 24. The team is now 7-1 overall, 2-0 in the section and is in first place. Next up is the GUHSD Badminton Tournament at Sunnyslope High School over the weekend.
