The Prescott National Forest has begun road construction and reconditioning of several roads on the Bradshaw Ranger starting on Monday, August 7, 2023, through November 15, 2023; however, the actual completion date may vary due to weather conditions.
The work will consist of roadside clearing and brushing, placing fill material, installing and/or repairing drainage features (such as water bars and rolling dips), placing crushed aggregate surfacing, and cleaning cattle guards on National Forest System Road (NFSR) 22, 103, 261, and 261A located on the Bradshaw Ranger District, near Big Bug Mesa.
There may be some delays to traffic at various times and locations while the work is underway. Contractor vehicles and equipment will be moving along the roadway and the public should exercise caution while using the roads during the construction period.
This project is part of the Prescott National Forest’s efforts to improve access for fire and resource protection as part of the Wildfire Crisis Strategy (WCS).
For more information or a status on road work, please call the Bradshaw & Chino Valley Ranger District at (928) 443-8000.
