Main Street Theatre History

For nearly 20 years, the Main Street Theatre has been entertaining people in the Prescott Valley area. Founder Clyde Neville wanted to bring live theatre to the quad-cities not only for patrons to enjoy but also to give actors of all ages an outlet for their creativity. Not having a permanent home meant performing in available spaces throughout Prescott Valley offering Children’s, Teen’s, and Family theatre, as well as Mainstage shows.

Over the years, the Main Street Theatre has been in various locations. Originally, they were housed in a rented theatre on Valley Road then moved to perform at the Franklin Phonetic School. Adding to the list of places the theatre set up shop included the Methodist Church and the space where the Prescott Valley military recruiting centers are now. The nomadic life the theatre has lived has now come to an end and 2022 marks the beginning of a new era for PVPA as they finished building their forever home next to Findlay Toyota Center on Main Street!

The community has embraced the Main Street Theatre building by way of donations through time, supplies, and discounted labor by industry experts. Home Depot stepped up to donate all the cedar used for the Wardrobe Room to keep costumes in good condition. Jewish Community Foundation donated sound and lighting equipment, curtains, and the theatre seating.  In the lobby, there is a mural created by Comic Book Artist Dave Beaty who has drawn for DC Comics including Superman, Batman, and other favorite DC characters.
