In honor of Constitution Week, the Town of Queen Creek is hosting an art and essay contest for local K-12 students.
Entries in the following categories will be accepted through Aug. 22:
- Benefits of the Constitution – Produce an original piece of art or write a one-page essay depicting how they have benefited from the freedoms embodied in the U.S. Constitution
- Mayor for the Day – Create an original art piece or write a one-page essay on “What would you do if you were mayor for a day in Queen Creek?”
Entries can be dropped off at the Municipal Services Building with the entry form, Monday – Thursday from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. at 22358 S. Ellsworth Road.

The Downtown Arts & Placemaking Advisory Sub-Committee will select the winners, which will be announced at the Sept. 6 Town Council meeting. The winners will receive a gift card to a QC business.
Selected entries, including the winners, will be displayed at Founders’ Day and the QC Community Concert.
The QC Community Concert in honor of Constitution Week will be held at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. The free concert will include high schools from throughout Queen Creek coming together in song.
