The Historic Yuma Theatre will once again mark Halloween weekend with two showings of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” at 7 p.m. and midnight on the evening of Oct. 28.
The cult-classic film is accompanied by a shadow cast of local actors in front of the screen, enhancing the interactive experience for which the movie is famous. A “costume madness” event will take place 30 minutes prior to each showing.
Audience members are invited to fully participate, and costumes are encouraged. However, attendees are asked to please leave Rocky Horror performance-related props at home, such as toast, hot dogs, prunes, rice, lighters, and water guns. Midnight Madness kits (prop bags) will be available for purchase as an add-on with your ticket (online or in person).
Tickets are $12 per person, available online at www.yumashowtickets.com. Advance purchase is recommended, as previous year’s showings have sold out.
“I’m very excited for the community to watch this year’s Rocky Horror Picture Show production,” said Events Operations Leader Izai Juarez. “Every cast member loves the art of acting, and that is displayed in their dedication and talent on stage.”
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is rated R, and “not for the faint of heart.” Attendees must be ages 18 years or older.
