It was just 75 years ago today, December 12, 1946, when Tide, America’s “Washday Favorite”, was first introduced to the consuming public. Laundry detergent was nothing knew, and many companies that have been lost to the ages existed to aid the washing of American clothes.
However, the difference with Tide was that it was for Heavy Duty washing, that’s right, got a lot of clothes, with a lot of dirt on them, well then, put down that Rinso and Gold Dust Washing Powder, and pick up a package of Tide. 75 years ago today, Tide made history, and now is the world’s leading detergent.
