This Day In History, December 18th, 2019 – “13th Amendment”

It was just 154 years ago today, December 18, 1865, when Secretary of State William Seward announced to the Country the passage of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. The 13th Amendment officially ended slavery in America. After being ratified by 3/4ths of the states in the Union, 27 out of 36, the 13th Amendment became law. It all happened, 154 years ago today.
