It was just 32 years ago today, July 17, 1989, when the first B-2 Bomber took to the skies. Looking as awesome as only a flying wing can, the B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber took off from the United States Airforce Plant 42, supposed to be classified, in California, and flew for about 2 hours until it landed at Edwards Airforce Base, also in California.
No doubt, people looked up in the sky, is it a bird, a plane, it’s not Dean Cain (Super Man), it’s actually a secretive military plane, so shut up. All joking aside, the B-2 may not have the ambiance and history as the B-17, B-29, or the B-52, but the sleek black airplane not only looks cool, but does the job and continues to do so, and it all started 32 years ago, today.
