Three members of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) women’s soccer team earned recognition for their work in the classroom when the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) when the organization released the 2020-21 Academic All-District team. Riley Martinson, Mackenzie Osther, and Katy Hyde were all selected for the honor. It was the third time on the list for Martinson, with Osther and Hyde selected for the first time in their careers.

A two-time All-American for ERAU, Martinson was selected as an Academic All-American in both 2018 and 2019. A past California Pacific Conference Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, she scored 36 goals during her career as an Eagle. Martinson graduated from ERAU in May with a degree in electrical engineering and a cumulative GPA of 3.800.

A goalie for the Eagles, Osther posted three shutouts in goal, including a pair in 2019 when she did not allow a goal in the three matches she appeared in. She also graduated in May, earning her degree in aerospace engineering with a 3.957 GPA.

Hyde led the Cal Pac in assists as a freshman in 2019, handing out eight to go along with six goals on her way to honorable mention All-Cal Pac honors. This past year she posted a perfect 4.0 GPA as a student in aeronautical science.

All three will now move on to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Results of that voting will be announced in July.
