Prescott Valley has seen some interesting weather over the past few weeks with a combination of above average temps around Christmas to rain and snow with freezing temps by New Year’s. This week launches with beautiful sunny weather and a high nearing 60 degrees. So will Mother Nature continue with the warm, sunny temps or will we get more snow and rain?
According to US National Weather Service Flagstaff Arizona the next storm system is still on track to impact northern Arizona Tuesday evening through early Wednesday morning. While snowfall forecasts are low, the weather service still advises awareness as the storm is expected to bring hazardous travel in snow & blowing snow is likely on roads above 5,500 feet, including I-40, I-17, and Hwy 64.
Snow is predicted to begin in western Coconino County around 5:00 pm on Tuesday, spreading to Flagstaff by mid to late evening, then to eastern AZ/Navajo Nation after midnight.
Snow levels start around 7000 feet and drop to 5500 feet after midnight. Wind gusts of 30-45 mph are expected to cause areas of poor visibility.
Prescott Valley and Surrounding areas
Prescott Valley and surrounding areas should expect to see windy conditions beginning Tuesday afternoon to early Wednesday morning. This system should bring about 0.1″ to 0.25″ of rain to the area.
Keep an eye on the weather this week, additional troughs are expected to affect the area Friday night to Saturday and Sunday to Monday morning, and again next Tuesday.
More storm forecast details will be shared as we near the weekend perhaps this weekend and early next week snowfall will be more likely!
