Wright, Holland Sweep Weekly ACCAC Awards for Yavapai Volleyball

After helping lead the Yavapai College volleyball team of Prescott,AZ to a pair of sweeps last week, freshman outside hitter Kierslynn Wright was named ACCAC Offensive Player of the Week while sophomore libero Brooklyn Holland was named ACCAC Defensive Player of the Week.

The Roughriders swept South Mountain on the road last week before sweeping Eastern Arizona at home to clinch Head Coach Zachary Shaver’s 150th career victory at Yavapai.

Wright tallied 25 kills, 12 digs, four blocks, two aces, and an assist in the two sweeps and leads the Roughriders in kills this season with 237.

Holland totaled 28 digs between the two matches, a category she also leads the team in with 258 on the season.

The duo becomes the second and third Roughriders this season to earn Player of the Week honors for volleyball after sophomore right hitter Samantha Holman earned the honors earlier this season.

Wright, Holland, and Holman are back in action Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Prescott at Walraven Gymnasium for a matchup against the Mesa Community College Thunderbirds.
