Yavapai College Finished Fourth Place

The 2021 Yavapai College softball season can to an end on Friday afternoon with a loss to Grayson College, TX, 6-3 in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. YC finishes the tournament in fourth place having knocked off the #1 seed, #2 seed, and #3 seed.

Once again, Yavapai fell behind early and made a comeback. The Roughriders fell behind 3-0 after four innings of play. YC tied the game in the top of the fifth inning but the Vikings retook the lead in the bottom half of the inning plating 3 runs. The Cardiac Kids made an attempt at comeback in the top of the seventh inning but was cut short by Grayson pitching.

Yavapai outhit the Viking on the day but stranded 9 runners. Mikaela Payne and Miki Berg each had two hits.

YC concludes the season at the ACCAC Division I Champions, the NJCAA Region I Champs, and the NJCAA West District Champions. They conclude the season with a 38-7 overall record.
