Yavapai College Men’s Soccer Set to Host Mesa

The Yavapai College men’s soccer team is back at home this Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. match against the Mesa Community College Thunderbirds in Prescott Valley at Mountain Valley Park.

The match will be streamed on GoRoughriders.com/Live. Individual streams can be purchased for $8 while a season pass for Yavapai men’s soccer home matches can still be purchased for $35.

Ticket prices for the match are as follows: $7 for adults, $5 for seniors (55 and older) and students, and free for children (0-6), Yavapai students with ID, and Yavapai staff and faculty with ID.

The Thunderbirds
Mesa is 1-6-1 on the season with its lone win coming over Paradise Valley by a score of 4-0. The Roughriders and Thunderbirds matched up earlier this season on August 31 with Yavapai earning a 4-2 win. In the all-time series with Mesa, Yavapai is 58-6-2.

The Roughriders
Yavapai is 5-3-1 overall and 1-0-1 in ACCAC play this season. Last time out, the Roughriders posted a dominating 9-0 victory over the Chandler-Gilbert Coyotes to grab their first conference win of the season.

On the stat sheet, freshman forward Jesse Maldonado leads the Roughriders with nine goals, five assists, and 23 points. Sophomore forward Dauda Woodruff is close behind Maldonado with eight goals, two assists, and 18 points. In goal, sophomore Hudson Bodily owns four victories and a shutout this season.
