After an incredible weekend of softball that featured a sweep of the No. 2-ranked Phoenix College Bears (NJCAA DII), the Yavapai College softball team is now the No. 1-ranked team in the country the NJCAA announced in its latest softball rankings.
“I am beyond proud of these young ladies for accomplishing the number one ranking in the nation,” Head Coach Doug Eastman said. “This is the most talented team I have ever coached and their accolades are well deserved.”
For the Roughriders, their season summary is simple: they defeated then-No. 4-ranked Salt Lake to open the season, fell to the College of Southern Idaho in their next game, won 19 games in a row via the run-rule, lost the opening game of a doubleheader with then-No. 1-ranked Phoenix and are currently on an incredible 21 game win streak.
