Yavapai County Community Emergency Response Team Seeking New Members

The Yavapai County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is looking for members committed to helping others.

CERT provides training on how to deal with disasters, and civil emergencies. You will learn how to triage one or more victims, treat victims until emergency help arrives and take care of yourself and your family when emergency services are unavailable.

Community Emergency Response Team is not a replacement for official responders; they support them. Depending on the circumstances, you may be asked to help with triages, help set up shelters, or direct traffic (if trained) in order to help free up law enforcement to deal with other emergencies.

If you are interested in being a first responder to your community, neighbor or even for your own family, there are monthly meetings and training.

For more information contact Ray Kolman at 928-273-1456, email them at  yavapaiCERT@gmail.com or find them on Facebook at Yavapai County CERT.

The Yavapai County Community Emergency Response Team is sponsored by Yavapai County Office of Emergency management.

Re: Cedar Fire – The mobile home park located byat 1520 White Spar Road is in need of serious assistance. The owner of park will not do an assessment of the needs of the disabled, elderly, etc. Or give them advise on how to help themselves. The park owner has advised everyone is on their own but their are several elderly and disabled people in this mobile home park who need help, especially in the event of an evacuation due to the Cedar Fire. Can some one please reach out and offer assistance to the mobile home tenants?
