Although recovering from an injury, Deputy Lewis agreed to handle a leg of the route as part of his commitment to represent the Sheriff’s Office. He accepted the torch from Prescott Police Officer Brandon Gerlach in Skull Valley, then rode 23 miles to the town of Yarnell. In Yarnell, the torch was passed to Trooper Chris Allard from the Department of Public Safety.

As always, YCSO is honored to share in this event honoring special needs athletes participating in the Olympics tomorrow. For details on the upcoming Olympic competition, click here: http://www.specialolympicsarizona.org/events/2018-summer-games
