Open Skate takes place almost daily, when there isn’t another event going on, and is for all ages and skill levels. Times vary throughout the day with “sessions” lasting two hours. According to the website, the cost for adults (13-years-old and up) is $5 per session, while kids under 12-years-old are $3 per session. Toddlers under three-years-old are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door prior to each session.
Skate rentals are available on a first come, first serve basis in sizes from youth 9 to men’s 13 and cost $4 per pair, per session regardless of age. In addition, tot walkers are available upon request for children ages 8-years-old and under. It is stated the walkers are designed to assist children learn how to skate properly and safely on the ice.
Helmets, knee and elbow pads are advised, but not required. The Prescott Valley Event center will provide a helmet upon request.
Those who wish to skate during Open Skate should enter at the northeast doors – closest to Liberty Elementary School – not by the main entrance near the box office.
No hockey sticks or pucks are allowed during Open Skate.
Skate sharpening is also available for $6 per pair.
