J Floyd started playing music as a way to decompress while in graduate school. Little did he know then that he has a gift for telling stories using his warm tone, emotional vocal delivery, guitar, and kick drum.
He spent the last 23 years owning and operating multiple Mixed Martial Arts schools. Having trained 100s of Pro and Amateur Competitors and 1000s of students.
His other love was music, years ago he fronted his first band, The Smokin’ Crows. An original Blues Rock Band. An album came from this project, “Murder of Crows” (found on YouTube). He eventually formed the Northern Roots band J Floyd and The Grave Sitters. This project resulted in the album “Northern Roots” (found on YouTube and all streaming services).
